What is a cutting tool?
A cutting tool defines the outline of a puzzle, card, box or shaped component. If a suitable tool already exists, the project may not need a new one. That depends on the size, construction and production requirements.
Ask before drawing the final artwork
Useful puzzle references include 680 × 480 mm for 1,000 pieces, 470 × 330 mm for 500 pieces, 416 × 296 mm for 300 pieces and 470 × 320 mm for children’s formats. We confirm the actual template for the chosen product.
Know when custom is useful
A new shape can be right for the product. In that case, request the tooling cost as a separate line. Existing formats are a cost-planning option, not a promise that every possible tool is available without charge.
